Som Sig Bör IV — Byrån (The Commode)

Three drawers. One cake. The commode keeps its secrets — the prinsesstårta keeps nothing.

 Som Sig Bör IV — Byrån is the fourth work from Series IV. A grey-white Gustavian commode — fluted corner columns, dentil moulding along the apron, brass ring pulls, cabriole legs — holds on its surface a luminous pink prinsesstårta. The rose and green leaves sit at the crown. The drawers below contain whatever a Gustavian commode contains: letters, ledgers, the private administration of a household.

 The cake sits on top of all of it, simply and completely at ease. The pink Quinacridone dome catches light differently at every angle. Powdered sugar dusts the upper surface. The shimmer ground beneath catches whatever light falls.
