Studio Grön — Bespoke Work

Commission a Painting

An original work made for you — your subject, your scale, your space. Aquarelle, acrylic, or both.

A commission is an invitation to make something that exists nowhere else in the world. Linda-Victoria accepts a limited number of commissions each year — paintings made to your specification, in the medium and at the scale that suits your space and your vision.

Commissions are available in all four series — a princess cake on a piece of furniture you love, a horse portrait, a Dammen-series water painting with a subject of your choosing — or something entirely new. The conversation begins with a question and ends with a painting that is entirely yours.

A commission is not a reproduction. It is a collaboration — a conversation between what you see and what the artist makes of it.

How it Works

The Commission Process

1

Begin the conversation

Fill in the commission enquiry form below or email studio@lindaeckerud.art. Tell us what you have in mind — the subject, the scale you’re imagining, where the painting will live, and any reference images that speak to the mood or palette you’re drawn to. There’s no wrong answer at this stage.

2

Consultation & quote

Within 48 hours, Linda-Victoria will respond with questions, thoughts, and a detailed quote covering price, timeline, and medium. For horse portraits and animal commissions, high-resolution reference photographs are essential — we’ll discuss what we need at this stage.

3

Deposit & begin

A 50% deposit is required to begin work. This is non-refundable and covers materials and time. The deposit is invoiced via Shopify or direct bank transfer — whichever is most convenient.

4

Work in progress

You’ll receive progress images at key stages — once the composition is established and again when the painting is approaching completion. One round of revisions is included. Additional changes are charged at an hourly rate.

5

Final payment & delivery

The remaining 50% is due on completion, before the painting ships. Your commission arrives with a hand-signed certificate of authenticity, a Studio Grön artwork label on the reverse, and archival packaging. Originals ship insured from Mill Valley, California.

Common Questions

Commission FAQ

How long does a commission take?

Most aquarelle commissions take 3–6 weeks from deposit to completion. Large-scale acrylic works take 6–10 weeks. Rush commissions may be possible for an additional fee — please ask. We always build in buffer time and will give you a realistic timeline at the consultation stage.

Can I commission a work in a specific colourway?

Yes. Colourway, palette, and mood are all part of the consultation conversation. The Gift eller Ogift series in particular works beautifully in different marzipan colours — green, pink, purple, white — each carrying its own emotional register. Tell us what you’re drawn to.

What reference photos do you need for a horse portrait?

For a horse portrait, at minimum: three to four high-resolution photographs of the horse — one from each side, one from the front, and ideally one in movement. Good natural light is essential. We’ll discuss what we need in detail during the consultation. The more reference you can provide, the more specific and personal the portrait will be.

Can I request a subject outside the existing series?

Yes. The existing series are a starting point, not a limit. If you have a subject in mind that doesn’t fit neatly into one of the four series — a specific piece of furniture, an animal, a place, an idea — bring it to the conversation. The most interesting commissions are often the ones that haven’t been done before.

Is the deposit refundable?

The 50% deposit is non-refundable once work has begun. If you need to cancel before work starts, please contact us immediately. We will always try to find a fair solution.

Can I give a commission as a gift?

A commission makes an extraordinary gift — a portrait, a piece in the recipient’s favourite palette, or a subject that means something to them personally. We can arrange gift certificates and keep the commission confidential until delivery if needed. Just let us know at the enquiry stage.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — all commissions ship worldwide, fully insured. Aquarelle commissions ship flat or rolled in archival tubes. Large-scale acrylic works ship via specialist fine art freight. Shipping is quoted individually based on your location and the size of the work.
